Payments and Payouts FAQ

How much do I receive from a booked job?

You receive your full price for the dumpster less standard credit card fees (3%).

When do I get paid for booked jobs?

Hometown releases the funds the day after the dumpster is delivered. It typically takes 2 business days to land in your account. If you haven't set up your bank account to receive funds from Hometown, we will contact you separately with instructions. Set up is simple and takes less than 5 minutes.

Will I see an invoice?

Invoices for booked jobs are sent to the customer directly from the payment processor. You can see the invoice in Bookable. Invoices are available under the "Jobs" menu option.  Under the customer's contact information and map of delivery address you can see the Schedule and Invoice.

How do I connect my bank to receive payouts?

When logged into app.bookable.com, select the Money/Payouts tab in the main menu, where you’ll find a link to connect your bank.  Hometown partners with Stripe to handle customer payments and payouts to service providers.

When is the customer’s card charged for the booking?

We authorize payment from the customer at the time of the booking but do not charge the card.  When the service provider accepts the booking, we charge the customer’s card.

How do I give a customer a partial or full refund?

Go to “Money/Payments” in the Bookable main menu and select the payment that needs refunding.  Once in the payment, select the “Refund” button.  You can provide a refund for any amount up to the total amount of the payment.

What happens if the customer disputes their credit card charge?

Disputes are rare as long as the service was actually provided and the service pro notifies the customer transparently about any additional charges after the booking (ie, overweight fee).

In the event of a disputed charge where the money has already been paid out to the service provider, Stripe will pull the disputed charge back until the dispute is resolved.   The service pro is responsible for providing evidence to win the dispute. In some cases, Hometown can assist with evidence as needed.
